Happy Anniversary Message

Happy 130th Anniversary Compatriots,

On April 30, 1889, William Osborn McDowell organized the Sons of the American Revolution at Fraunces Tavern in New York.  That date was the centennial for the inauguration of George Washington as the first President of the United States in 1789.  As we celebrate 130 years of the SAR, I hope all of you will think of the service and commitment that your patriot(s) gave to make this great nation.    I am grateful to each of our members throughout the world and pray that you have good health, happy times and that each of you renew your commitment to our wonderful organization.  Remember our Mission and Goals:

The Objects of this Society are declared to be patriotic, historical, and educational; to unite and promote fellowship among the descendants of those who sacrificed to achieve the independence of the American people, to inspire them and the community-at-large with a more profound reverence for the principles of the government founded by our forefathers; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institutions of American freedom. Each of you is important to our continuing success.  Join me in celebrating our 130th anniversary.  God Bless the SAR! Warren M. Alter President General 2018-2019
